Everything Whatsoever I Have Commanded
Everything Whatsoever I Have Commanded
Matthew 23:1-3
— Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
- His disciples
- This was an instruction and command not only to the multitudes but also to Jesus’ disciples.
- Moses
- The Scribes and the Pharisees sat in the place of Moses, and commanded the observance of the Law of Moses, which is the Torah Law.
- All … whatsoever
- Every little thing that is commanded of the Torah Law.
- therefore
- It is because they sit in the seat of Moses and administer God’s Law.
- that observe and do
- Keep and do the Torah Law as commanded in every particular.
So here we have a clear command from Yeshua (Jesus) to His disciples to observe the Torah Law (Moses) in every detail. It is not a friendly suggestion, but a command. Compare Matthew 28:20.
Matthew 28:20
— Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
