Yeshua’s Commandments

Yeshua’s Commandments

What are Yeshua’s (Jesus’) commandments? When he says, “keep my commandments,” to which commandments is he referring?

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

Mark 14:62-63 Jesus said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.” The high priest tore his clothes, and said, “What further need have we of witnesses?”

The high priest tore his clothes because Yeshua uttered blasphemy in his ears, claiming to be Yahweh God Himself. We see from Scripture that there is only one God, Yahweh, and there is no other Almighty. For example:

Isaiah 45:18 For thus says Yahweh who created the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, who established it and didn’t create it a waste, who formed it to be inhabited: “I am Yahweh; and there is no other.”

This means that Yahweh and Yeshua are one and the same. Yeshua is God-in-the-flesh. This, in turn, means that every commandment given in Scripture is Yeshua’s commandment!

Yeshua was telling us to keep all of his Scriptural commandments if we love him! In other words, all of the so-called “Old Testament” commandments are included.
