Talking Points

… and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. —Deuteronomy 6:7

Talking Points are single-page slides for use in teaching and generating discussion. Each of them comes as both a PNG image and as a PDF page for printing out or displaying on screen.

Initially, at least, Talking Points will be grouped here chronologically according to month of publication.

Everlasting Life to Those Holding Faithful

N.B. The ’may’ and ’may not’ are in the subjunctive mood, and not in the indicative mood. In English, it is possible to misread these words in the indicative, meaning that holding faithful only gives a possibility of everlasting life, instead of the certainty. In the correct reading (subjunctive mood), the words mean that holding faithful enables the outcome of not perishing and receiving everlasting life, and that this outcome is only depending on one’s faithfulness.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. (First Corinthians 9:24)
